About The Edgewater Arts Council
The Edgewater Arts Council is a non-profit organization of volunteers, created in 1991 to bring fine, visual and performing arts to our town. We have donated sculptures and vintage photos to the Borough for public viewing and framed prints of paintings depicting local scenes to the municipality. In the spring of 2018, we donated and installed the sculpture Sails, by Ephraim Peleg in the Peace Garden at Veterans Field. In the past, we created an art gallery at the Community Center and presented jazz, pop, and classical concerts throughout the year. For the past 30 years, Edgewater has hosted the Annual Arts and Music Festival inviting artists to showcase their work and compete in Bergen County’s most prestigious juried art competition. This year again we offer cash prizes totaling $5,250 to artists whose work exemplifies the best in art, crafts, mixed media, fiber arts, photography, best student art, and a $1,000 prize for “Best of Show” tops off the awards. Each year, we are joined by International Festive Fair which draws even more visitors to the event.
The present location is at Edgewater’s Veteran’s Field, a very unique and peaceful section of Edgewater where visitors can stroll leisurely among the many exhibits overlooking the Hudson River in this idyllic place.
